Like a Moth to a Flame

You get up, you clean up, you say your prayers, you put on your clothes and prepare to start the day by going to work -- no breakfast for me as I seldom do breakfast, well, maybe a glass of water. I'll make some casual chat with the old folks, get out of the house, stop a minute or two at the corridor where my mom placed her favourite pots of plants and orchids and maybe, just maybe appreciate the bloom.

This morning I stopped for a good 5 - 7 minutes, all thanks to the two 'visitors' who were in my path.

It was just resting there, on the railing. And another one on the 4th floor. The seconds I saw the first one I thought that was weird as I didn't know such a creature would even be there. But it fluttered its wings and that was it. I thought it looked so fragile but its flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of time and the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had it not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different. I wouldn't have stayed and missed my usual train schedule. This moth, I think it's a moth, has a wingspan as long as a $10 note. Unease crept in me as I took these pics because I just didn't think they will survive the day. There is a hill with quite a bit of foliage next to my flat. I'm guessing these moths lost their way or were attracted to the confusion, bright lights and chaos that is within these concrete walls. Why else would such a gentle creature be allured away from its sanctuary?

As I'm typing these, I recall Frost's lines, "Whose woods these are, I think I know..." It was 8.38pm - M messaged me her flight has finally made the stopover at Abu Dhabi. That's a few more flight hours to go, luv, and you'll be at the Holy Land in no time.
